Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus

Key pieces of people’s lives have been rearranged over the last two weeks. Almost directly after the Solar Eclipse in Libra on the 14th, the Sun found itself conjunct the South Node at the tip of the Neptune/Uranus yod. I often liken a yod to a mini-eclipse. There is a fated quality here, but it often manifests as an overwhelming urge or need to radically shift the status quo. Specifically, we likely felt as though we had to start showing up differently within our relationships: authentic, empowered, and whole. That all sounds good, of course. But, it was (and likely still is) a very awkward and uncomfortable endeavor. If we have habitually contributed an easy-breezy, go-with-the-flow energy, we may be pushed into more of a decisive leadership role. Or if we have been a little too forgiving of others' poor character, we may have suddenly seen the situation more clearly and severed the relationship. Whatever the case may have been, you likely felt some version of this pressure-cooker energy from the 12th through the 18th.
This sets the stage for the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. Now we are dealing with resources and power along the Taurus/Scorpio axis. When your sense of “I AM” energy gets a dramatic upgrade, the material reflection in the world shifts as well. Taurus is fixed earth and rules our personal resources: earned money, home, land, food, and possessions. Any of these may undergo a transformation. It will, of course, depend on where 5 degrees of Taurus lands in your chart. If it is in the 4th house, you may be dealing with the material security of your family. If it is the 6th house, you may suddenly need to change your approach to diet. If it is in the 9th house, you may move overseas or unexpectedly acquire resources for higher education. This energy can manifest in innumerable ways.
This eclipse will not be without its challenges. It is in opposition to Mars and Mercury conjunct in Scorpio. This pair is a force to be reckoned with as it tends to see the world in absolute terms. These planets don’t dilly-dally in the shades of gray and nuance that they did in Libra. This energy may have us making (or at least witnessing) rather resolute decisions. Especially since Mars and Mercury are ruled by Pluto in Capricorn, which is currently squaring the Nodes, Moon, and Sun. In this position, Pluto is demanding deep transformation of our Taurus energy in service of balancing the Aries/Libra axis. So, we will be asked to make decisions that empower us enough (financially, materially) to show up in our relationships, not out of a survival necessity, but out of a genuine desire to connect.
Luckily, the Moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus. It is grounded, calm, and takes its time to process emotions. It is probably the best moon for weathering a Mars/Mercury opposition. It will still be important to take advantage of its strengthening conjunction with Jupiter, which will encourage a broad, philosophical perspective on whatever events unfold over the next few days.
We can also look to Saturn in Pisces forming a Wedge aspect to the Moon and Sun. If circumstances become too intense, Saturn invites us to invest seriously in our spiritual practices. Read old texts, meditate, journal. Whatever you do, Saturn asks that you do it with reverence and regularity.

TAROT WISDOM: The ten is a pinnacle and a precipice. It asks you to enjoy the view for a bit, then leap again. If you stay too long in the realm of achievement, it can breed insecurity, grasping, and a reluctance to expand. Our Taurus Moon may feel a bit of that reluctance during this eclipse. But our power quickly dissipates when we cling to past comforts and is often replaced by fear. So, we are reminded to plug back into the Golden Egg: the true source of power, the seed of expansion, and the miracle of eternal becoming.
